About the new model Infiniti Q80 Inspiration
This year, Infiniti uses the Paris Motor Show to share its vision of how the premium class sedan should look like in the future.
It can be said that Q80 Inspirion throws a glove to such grandsons like Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7th series.
Vice-President on the Strategic Development of Francois Bancon declares that this model is designed to destroy familiar stereotypes and lay new criteria that gives the right to enter the elite club of automakers.
Of course, the prototype presented is the pearl of the passing tower and claims to be one of the best sedans in the premium class.
But we remember that the previously represented Infiniti models of Essence and Emerge-E have undergone significant changes before they were running into a series.
Most likely, the same fate is waiting for Q80 Inspiration, but among the brilliance and luxury of the new model, you can certainly find several innovations that will be implemented in serial models.
So talk about them and talk.
The engine is the heart of Q80 Inspiration
The heart of Q80 Inspiration is the new Burbed V6 motor with reduced to 3 liters volume, which will be the basis for a whole family of engines in the next 2 years.
Working together with the electric motor, the new power plant will provide the total capacity of 550 horsepower.
Such a hybrid installation can be implemented both in the front-wheel drive version and in all-wheel drive, providing excellent performance and environmental performance: Average fuel consumption of approximately 5.5 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions at the level of 130 g / km.
Appearance car
The car has an elongated shape.
With a length of 5020 mm and width of 2010 mm, which is comparable to the size of competitors from Mercedes and BMW, it is significantly lower - only 1340 mm. The design combines convex and concave surfaces with sharp corners and very bold forms, as well as slightly enlarged elements.
The front and rear windows are combined into a single whole roof.
We see an impressive size of the radiator grille in the framework of the woven headlights and low-locked air intakes.
Salon Q80 Inspiration
The space of the cabin appears in front of us in all its glory due to the lack of central racks and opening doors.
The interior decoration is made of alcantara black and white steady skin, the number of seats is limited to four, as a pretty high central console permeates the entire salon.
Over the seat seats and the front passenger are information displays.
Road information is displayed on the driver's display, the passenger can connect a smartphone or another multimedia device to its display.
For rear passengers, traditional sensory displays are provided.
New Automated Q80 Inspiration Management System
The Q80 uses a fundamentally new automated control system, designed to ease the life of the driver, but do not interfere with it.
When it is activated, the driver can relax and rely on automation, which will track the data coming from various cameras, lasers and sensors.
But, unlike other automated systems that actually replace the driver, the Infiniti system only offers its services, leaving in his hands all the completeness of the car control.
"Infiniti research is aimed at creating such an automatic driving system, which would be able to increase human driving experience, but not to replace the living driver," says Francois Bancon.
"Our development path does not imply the creation of fully automatic control systems."
It is still not clear how much the serial model will comply with the concept presented, but it is quite clear that Infiniti is aimed at creating a flagship full-size sedan.
"Q80 Inspiration is a huge step forward to our company and we impose great hopes for him," summarizes the Bonex.
"His name itself suggests that this car will inspire our specialists to create new models."
