Handbrake is designed to hold the vehicle at a place for a long time. If the parking brake does not record the vehicle on the spot, then it is faulty. There may be two reasons for this. The first cause is torn or stretched cables. The second reason is the erased shods of manual brake or brake pads. If the manual brake lever is lowered, and the lamp on the instrument panel is still lit, most likely, the level of brake fluid is less than the minimum.

The frequent cause of the exit of the handbrake is to join the cable due to mechanical damage, moisture and mud, rust. In addition, it is worth noting that for the output of the manual brake, it is enough to drive a few kilometers on a stretched handbrake. How to replace the handbrake lever VAZ (Classic) step by step

Order of work:

1. From the front cable tip of the hand brake, disconnect the rear cable with the guide.
2. Soak and remove the roller fastening bolt.
   
3. Take out the roller from the bracket. Be careful with the sleeve of the roller, do not lose it.
   
4. We derive a cable from the intermediate support of the cardan transmission and roller brackets.
   
5. We turn off the two fastening screws of the hand brake drive lever cover and remove the cover from the lever.
   
6. Turn the four fastening screws of the lever and remove the lever along with the front cable.
   
7. The new lever is installed in the reverse order.

When replacing the parking brake lever, inspect the roller with the mounting components: a bolt with a spring washer (1), roller (2), sleeve (3). If there are mechanical damage, the roller is subject to replacement. Before installation, lubricate the sleeve (b) and the contacting surfaces of the roller (a) with LSC-15 lubrication or Litol-24.
